Senator Babet's statements come amidst a war between Australian politicians and billionaire businessman Elon Musk – owner of X – who has vehemently refused to remove the flagged content.ordering X and Meta to remove the church video due to the “serious emotional, mental and psychological damage” it was prone to cause.

While geo-blocking can obstruct content from a particular location, anyone using a Virtual Private Network can circumvent the blocker and alter the country they are accessing the platform from. “eSafety’s removal notice to X Corp required it to take all reasonable steps to ensure the removal of the extreme violent video content of the alleged terrorist act at Wakeley in Sydney on 15 April. The removal notice identified specific URLs where the material was located,” they said.
