A joint operation by law enforcement agencies in Richland County on Thursday resulted in nine people being arrested and illicit drugs being seized by authoritie

The METRICH Bridge Operation brought together the METRICH Enforcement Unit, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Richland County Sheriff's Office, and several local law enforcement agencies to help crack down on drug activity and also provide help for those in need who may be suffering after substance use.Three people were arrested for drug-related felonies, and five were arrested for drug-related misdemeanors. An additional person was arrested for a misdemeanor which was not drug related.

Authorities seized nearly 70 grams of drugs including methamphetamine, crack, and heroin during the operation, and three outreach referrals were issued with possible connections to treatment.METRICH Lt. Steve Blust thanked participating agencies, saying the operation was considered a success and that the METRICH Enforcement Unit continues to have a positive impact on the community.
