Wally was horrifically sealed inside a wall during construction on the unit and left to languish for approximately a month, apparently surviving by drinking water from an open drainage channel. In a video uploaded by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Asia, the dog, who was named “Wally,” was rescued after he was found sealed in between walls for a month during construction. After his rescue, Wally was taken by PETA to receive veterinary care and is now waiting to be adopted and loved by his new fur parents.“This poor dog not only endured the heartbreak and confusion of being left behind by his family but also spent weeks trapped behind a wall, barking desperately for help and struggling to escape,” PETA Senior Vice President Jason Baker said in a statement. “PETA urges everyone to come to the aid of animals in need—or to call someone who can help.
PETA cited Wally’s story, which shows that animals who are abandoned endure heartbreak over the loss of their family and everything they know. Animals are also at risk of being hit by cars, succumbing to disease, or being abused.
