Police say Florida man set himself on fire outside Donald Trump trial

The incident happened in a park outside the courthouse just minutes after the final jury selections were being made in Trump's hush money trial.New York authorities and fire department personnel inspect where a man lit himself on fire in a park outside Manhattan criminal court, April 19, 2024.

Officials identified the man as Max Azzarello from St. Augustine, Florida. Police said they believe he arrived in New York sometime earlier this week. Investigators said Friday afternoon that the preliminary information doesn't show any connection between Azzarello and the Trump trial happening inside the courthouse.
