A new witness is currently testifying in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial at theOn Thursday, tempers flared in court during the cross-examination of cellphone data analyst Lieutenant Colonel Gideon Gouws.
The defence grilled Gouws on some of the data that was downloaded from cellphones confiscated from some of the accused.Five men are on trial for the murder of Senzo Meyiwa. MuzikawukhulelwaSibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Fisokuhle Nkani Ntuli are on trial for the murder of Meyiwa.
The men face charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence, and possession of ammunition. All five men pleaded not guilty.Court proceedings typically start at 10:00, adjourn at 13:00 for lunch and resume again at 14:00. However, due to unforeseen circumstances on a particular day, there are delays, and sometimes court adjourns for either tea or lunch earlier than the set times indicated above.
