RIGHT: Former President Donald Trump awaits the start of a pre-trial hearing with his defense team at Manhattan criminal court, Monday, March 25, 2024, in New York. ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith sounded off on Democrats Tuesday over what he feels is politically motivated persecution of former President Donald Trump.Trump’s hush money trial.
Smith continued, noting he was not aiming to “absolve” Trump of his actions. However, the ESPN personality explained the case could cause “damage” if allowed to proceed.Issues such as the conflict in the Middle East, the U.S. border crisis and soft-on-crime prosecutors, Smith argued, are giving Democrats reason to fear President Joe Biden could be voted out in November.“So let me get this straight,” Smith said.
Smith went on to draw parallels to former presidents accused of sexual misconduct while in office, such as Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy. Even presidents who didn’t have extramarital affairs likely used the Oval Office “to get loose,” Smith claimed.“You got the Oval Office available to you and suddenly you’re not supposed to utilize it?” he asked.
“Its much ado about nothing,” Smith continued. “To my liberal friends out there, all you’re doing is showing that you’re scared you can’t beat him on the issues and merits.” Jackson Walker on X at @_jlwalker_ for the latest trending national news. Have a news tip? Send it to jacwalker@sbgtv.com.
