TV personality Ellen DeGeneres has called on people to boycott hotels owned by the Sultan of Brunei. Picture: Kevin Winter/Getty Images. On Saturday in a series of tweets, Elton John took a stand alongside George Clooney calling for a global boycott of said hotels. “We must send a message, however we can, that such treatment is unacceptable. That’s why David and I have long refused to stay at these hotels and will continue to do so.”
Panellist S.E. Cupp, a CNN host, called Clooney “hypocritical,” pointing out Hollywood does “a ton of business” with the United Arab Emirates, another nation whose laws have been criticised. “This idea that the Sultan of Brunei is going over the receipts from the Polo Lounge ... ‘Oh no, we only sold two soups today’,” Maher joked.

Ellen George and Elton are some facts of the few who could actually afford to stay at these hotels. The ave person cannot afford Dorchester prices.
These 'people' will never accept the reality of homosexuality in all cultures. It is also present in Islam. Religion does not disqualify one from loving who they choose, regardless of imbeciles who disagree on supposed religious grounds.
Never see famous people protesting against Saudi Arabia, ohhh yeah cannot, they own half of Hollywood..........
It will only hurt the people that work there. For the sultan it will just be a small hiccup.
But islam is peaceful and good...? Saudi Arabia slices peoples heads off as soon as they walk out the court house on the foot path.
First it was George Clooney & now Ellen - why is it that only the ultra rich who are asking for these hotels to be boycotted? Most of us couldn’t afford to live in the hotels mentioned!
