Results from the survey, commissioned by CTV News, find just under half of Canadians said the SNC-Laval scandal involving the resignations of high-profile cabinet ministers is “primarily a serious legal issue of attempted interference in justice.”
Meanwhile, western Canadians – 59 per cent in the Prairies and 54 per cent in British Columbia -- are more likely to consider it primarily a legal issue. The survey is based on a hybrid telephone and online random survey of 1,000 Canadians, 18 and older, between March 29 and April 1. The sample included both cellular phones and land-lines across Canada. The margin of error for a random survey of 1,000 Canadians is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
It was a legal battle that turned into a political issue...
Legal.
It is simple, split the Attorney General function away from the Minister of Justice and the issue is gone.
The fact that something is not illegal does not mean that something is ethical Whether laws were broken is for the rcmpgrcpolice to decide should they actually open an investigation
It’s both
This gov. tried to save canadian jobs to go to the UK or the US. So what now? I mean, I get the idea, but we all know now that she was not pure in her intentions. I’ll back canadian jobs before the the ego of an ex justice minister. Any day.
Definitely a legal issue, also political. I wonder how JT feels this morning with part of his caucus standing with their back to him.
It’s both, there now it’s settled.
