Court Nullifies Adeleke's Nomination for Osun Guber Polls over Certificate Forgery - THISDAYLIVE

Justice Oathman Musa of an Abuja High Court sitting in Bwari Area Council of Abuja on Tuesday Nullified the nomination of Senator Ademola Adeleke as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party , in the September 2018 Governorship Election in Osun State.

They prayed the court for an order to disqualify Adeleke from participating in the Sept 22 governorship election in the state on the grounds that he does not possess the requisite educational qualification. Justice Musa further stated that the result Adeleke attached to his form CF001 which he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission was fake, as it was found to be different from the one presented to the court by the principal of Ede Muslim High School, Ede, Osun State.

While he disclosed that they will immediately commence filing of their appeal against the Judgment, the senior lawyer expressed confidence that the judgment cannot stand at Appeal Court. The confirmation was contained in a four paragraph affidavit filed in compliance with the order of Justice Oathman Musa requesting the examination body to confirm whether the governorship candidate sat for the 1981 exams.

WAEC however in the sworn affidavit confirmed that, Adeleke with center number 19645 and candidate number 149 indeed sat for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in May/June 1981 conducted by the council at Ede Muslim School situate at P.O. Box 6 Yidi Road, Ede, State of Osun.

Well the Adeleke's case can not stop the party from being the governor if the appeal n supreme Court confirms the Tribunal judgement. It's either the deputy will take over or the 1st runner up of the primaries. I'm not a lawyer so I may be wrong.

1. PDP is still the winner of the election according to the tribunal's judgment. 2. If the SC upholds this,then the 1st runner up to Adeleke steps in. 3. This case is same with that of the doctrine of stare decisis,the same judgment shld suffice for both.

If he indeed present a forged certificate, he should face it, when justice become selective then it becomes a big problem, The Governor -Elect in Kwara is also having same forgery case in court and we will wait to see how it plays out.

The next thing is to copy UN, France, Japan, EU, USA.

They are setting grounds for the disqualification of PMB if the appeal and Supreme Court reinforce this ruling. Similar arguments made against PMBS cert.
