Simon Taylor, who was the former head of drama at the independent school, would pet the teenager while 'awkwardly spooning' him on his sofa, jurors were told.

A former teacher at the prestigious £51,000-a-year Winchester College has appeared in court accused of 'kissing and cuddling' a schoolboy.

But Mr Taylor went on to kiss and cuddle him on numerous occasions, before declaring his love for him, it was heard. 'While it was unwelcome he didn't physically object at the time. The defendant was in a position of trust in relation to him because he was his teacher. Mr Moores said they were 'quite full on kisses' which were 'not a peck' that took place at the property in Kingsgate Street which he said was provided by the college.

The court heard a college Housemaster arranged for pastoral support as he was struggling with work - which Taylor was appointed to - meaning his visits were less likely to arouse suspicion.'It was full blown kissing on the mouth, with cuddling in private, out of sight of other people.'
