Bruce Lehrmann claims his reputation was ruined by a Network Ten interview and is seeking significant damages. Today he will learn if he is successful.

Bruce Lehrmann will learn today if his defamation case over an interview with Brittany Higgins on The Project has been successful. The final judgment in Lehrmann's case against Network Ten and Lisa Wilkinson will be delivered at the Federal Court in Sydney at 10.15am — more than three months after the five-week trial ended, and four days after the final hearing of additional evidence last week.

On 7 February 2023, Lehrmann launched Federal Court defamation proceedings against Ten and Wilkinson, a former Project co-host who interviewed Higgins on the program. A judgment in the bitterly fought defamation battle had been due to be delivered on April 4, but this was postponed when Ten successfully reopened the case to give further evidence.
