Deputy Police Chief,Investigation,Brady List

Deputy Chief Doug Davis in Circleville is under investigation and has been placed on the Brady List by the Pickaway County Prosecutor. The list includes officers with internal issues that could affect their credibility and character as witnesses in court.

A deputy police chief in Circleville now under investigation by the city became a target of concern for the Pickaway County Prosecutor in 2022. The prosecutor placed Deputy Chief Doug Davis on what's called a "Brady List." That's a list of officers with internal issues whose credibility and character could be questioned on the stand.

ABC 6 obtained the file that placed Deputy Chief Davis on the Brady List from the prosecutor's office this week. The first case on file cites an "unconstitutional search" in the felony drug case of Clifford Browning from 2021. Documents indicated Davis instructed his officer to stop Browning's car but did not provide a clear reason to do so. The judge suppressed the evidence found in the search which caused prosecutors to dismiss the case in 2022.
