After that interrogation, she signed an Italian language confession implicating herself and accusing Lumumba, the owner of a bar she worked at part time, of killing Kercher, thethe claim against Lumumba hours later, but she went on to be found guilty of defamation in 2009 for her accusation and accused Lumumba of the murder. Hours later, sheand said it was made “under the pressures of stress, shock and extreme exhaustion.” Knox and Sollecito were convicted of the murder in 2009.
