Pagbasura sa rice liberalization 'solusyon vs rice inflation' — KMP

MANILA, Philippines — "Farmers are willing to sell to the NFA if only the agency would offer a higher buying price. Sobrang taas pa rin ng gastos sa produksyon sa bawat ektarya ng palay. Kung barat ang bili ng NFA sa palay ng mga magsasaka, wala nang kikitain o lugi na ang mga magsasaka," wika ni KMP Chairperson Danilo Ramos.Republic Act 11203sa commodity gaya ng bigas na siyang binibili ng gobyerno para ipamahagi sa tuwing matataas ang presyo upang ma-stabilize ang merkado.

Matatandaang tinatanggal ng RA 11203 ang limitasyon ng dayuhang bigas na maaaring ipasok sa bansa kapalit ng pagbabayad ng taripa. Dahil dito, itinuturo ito ng ilang magsasaka sa pagkalugi ng mga lokal na magbubukid. Lunes lang nang maitala ng Department of Agriculture sa sumusunod na presyo ang mga naturang local commercial rice kada kilo:ito sa ngayon upang mapataas ang lokal na produksyon ng bigas sa Pilipinas gamit ang mas mababang gastusin para mapakalma ang food and non-food inflation.

Pinagtibay ng Supreme Court ang desisyon ng Commission on Elections na nagbabasura sa disqualification case na isinampa kay Senator Raffy Tulfo bunsod ng kawalan ng hurisdiksiyon.
