The Department of Justice (DOJ) persists in refusing to hand over the audiotape of former special counsel Robert Hur's interview with President Joe Biden concerning the classified documents investigation, Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., lamented on Newsmax.

If the Department of Justice persists in refusing to hand over the audiotape of former special counsel Robert Hur's interview with President Joe Biden concerning the classified documents investigation, then there will be no choice but to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress, Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., told Newsmax.

Biggs said the reason the DOJ is refusing to hand over the audiotapes is "they lose control if we get the audiotapes," pointing out if someone just reads a transcript of what someone said, it makes a certain impression, but nearly as much as when someone listens to an audiotape. When asked if he would vote to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., Biggs was noncommittal, but said he is "gravely disappointed with some of his actions."
