PUTRAJAYA has not made any decision on reintroducing Clause 88A, which requires both parents to agree to a child’s conversion to Islam, despite the federal court’s ruling against unilateral conversions of minors. The Home Ministry said this in a written parliamentary reply dated March 27, adding that further study was needed on the reinsertion of the clause in the Law Reform Act 1976.
