Lawyers Sukhindarpal Singh and Y Anbanathan speaking to Karitikesoo Valu’s family members outside the High Court in George Town, Penang, today.

This was after justice Akhtar Tahir reviewed the case of Karitikesoo Valu who has been in detention since he was charged on March 22. He was charged under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 which carries a maximum fine of RM50,000, one year’s jail, or both upon conviction. Because the CMA is silent on bail, he said, the Criminal Procedure Code should have been followed which allows bail for the accused.

If you are not the mass murderer responsible for the Wang Kelian mass murder or the MH370 mass murder, why should you be worried about the International Criminal Court? Unless if you say the rome statute obeys the Agong and puts Agong on top, then this is pretty much the same with ICERD. Attempts to take a certain amount of judicial and authority from the hands of malaysian judiciary system. I support Rome Statute. It's right to sign. Gov did the right thing and YDPA have no objection.
