A 20-year-old has been charged

A man is due to appear in court following an alleged stabbing in Bury. Greater Manchester Police has charged Charlie Harrison with affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

It follows an alleged incident on Abingdon Avenue, in Whitefield, where GMP says an 18-year-old man was stabbed in the arm last Thursday . GMP confirmed that Mr Harrison had been charged this afternoon . The 20-year-old, of Mather Avenue, Bury, has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court later today, GMP says.A cordon was taped off on Abingdon Avenue after 5pm last Thursday as police attended the scene. A 49-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

GMP previously confirmed the 49-year-old man and the 16-year-old boy had been released under investigation. The force has been approached for further information.
