The trial of a man charged with the deaths of his wife and his girlfriend's youngest children begins in Idaho Monday.faces the death penalty.
Investigators began looking into the disappearance of JJ and Tylee after their Grandma, Kay Woodcock, first called the police requesting a welfare check. Investigators soon realized that no one had seen or heard from either of the children in weeks. Chad and Lori began lying to detectives about their whereabouts before they fled to Hawaii.
Investigators would soon find JJ and Tylee's remains buried in Chad Daybell's backyard. Chad was on the phone with Lori while she was in jail as investigators began searching the backyard. He attempted to flee in his truck, but police quickly stopped him and he was taken into custody., which occurred last year, showed a gruesome end for the children. JJ was wrapped in several plastic bags and duct-taped tightly around his face and hands.
Lori was found guilty of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in all three deaths. She was sentenced to multiple life sentences.
