Local animal advocates say they will not stop searching for answers, after the San Diego Humane Society announced it was closing its investigation into the fate of hundreds of rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and hamsters it transferred to its Arizona counterpart without pursuing legal action. “They’ve taken zero responsibility for what occurred,” said local animal advocate Kelly Paolisso. “It wasn’t just 10 animals, it’s 323.
But advocates say the investigation wasn’t thorough enough, and that many of the advocates involved along the way were never contacted to provide information that they had gathered. “The P.I. never talked to anybody that we know of,” Paolisso said. “So I don't think it was truly an investigation. I think it was a stall tactic.
