The detective Garda who investigated a deception case involving the sale of a pony to an Irish family in Majorca, said it took him four and a half years to make contact with the accused.
Det Garda Joseph Scanlon told Sligo Circuit Court that on 1 November 2012 he had received a complaint from Sean Ewing and his wife Terri who had purchased two ponies from Mr Kearins. He told the court that he made contact with Mr Kearins when he returned home for his grandfather’s funeral. He told gardaí that when Felix Burke the owner of the skewbald seen by the Ewings family, decided he was no longer selling, he spoke to Mrs Ewing about buying a different pony for her daughter. The accused told gardaí that he charged Sean Ewing €1,800 for this pony.
Mr Kearins asked could he take Soldier/Buddy to a nearby arena to show him to the Swedish party and he later told Mr Burke that they were very interested.
Even though this story sounds like complete 🐴💩 It’s still better than hearing about bReXiT & Northern Ireland any day of the week🙌🏻 So well done RTÉ👍🏻🤣😂
