A man will appear in court in Cork tomorrow in connection with the death of chef Ian Baitson, who was attacked with a sword in Cobh on March 15 and died in hospital four days later.

A man will appear in court in Cork tomorrow in connection with the death of chef Ian Baitson, who was attacked with a sword in Cobh on March 15 and died in hospital four days later. The man, who is in his 30s, has been charged and is due to appear before Midleton District Court at 10:30am tomorrow. He was arrested last Friday evening and was detained for questioning at a Cork Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds for the funeral of Mr Baitson. A portion of the monies raised will be donated to the intensive care unit at Cork University Hospital (CUH). The father-of-two died at the hospital last Tuesday. His organs were harvested for donation. The 33-year-old was attacked shortly before 9pm on March 15 in a car park on the Newtown Road in Cob
