Updated 27th March 2019This custom-built chateau cost $64 million -- but a court has ordered its owner to knock it downFrance is famed for the historic chateaus that dot its countryside, but when one man built his very own Renaissance-style mansion in a beautiful corner of the south coast, he caused something of a stir.
Property developer Pierre Diter, who owns the chateau in the town of Grasse, in Southern France, has 18 months to raze the building and faces a fine of €200,000 , Pierre-Jean Gaury, attorney general at the court of appeal in Aix-en-Provence, told CNN.
Is that covered in their home owners policy?
It's obvious that when people tweet they don't really bother to read the article itself they assume the headline tells it all. This place is in FRANCE. You know that country where all the rioting is happening.
That's a bit dim esp when u consider the resources (man-hours, money, time, etc) it'll take 2 do that. Tax payers money ought 2b put 2 mch better use. A wiser decision wld be to auction the property & recoup sm funds to improve people's lives. Verdict: Erhm..Judge needs a shrink?
Good.

Instead of knocking it down why didn't try to pick it back up and make it feel better
Trump sells properties worth that much to Russians here just for the Russians to knock it down and build something on it. Trump sells properties to Russians and Saudis like hot cakes and Trump has said these business men are bad people most of them but he said he knows them well

Don’t you need building permits before you start building ?
Good. If he was such a great business man he'd have applied for a permit before building.
