Chief crown prosecutor Brendan Kissane QC, today told Justice Christopher Beale Ristevski had not outlined his reasons or method to investigators. ‘‘To date only one person knows why or how Karen Ristevski was killed and that is the prisoner,’’ Mr Kissane said. For two years after he killed the 47-year-old, Ristevski claimed he had nothing to do with her death.But on March 13 this year, after a Supreme Court judge ruled that prosecutors couldn't rely on Ristevski's post-offence conduct to prove murderous intent, he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
After Karen’s death, Ristevski shoved her body in the back of her Mercedes Benz, drove towards Macedon Regional Park and turned off both their phones on the way.Her skeletal remains were found - eight months later - by a pair of horticulturalists.
