UVALDE, Texas - A parent of one of the victims killed in the Robb Elementary mass shooting ended his protest against the Uvalde Police Department Tuesday night after nearly a week of sitting in front of their building.Brett Cross is the guardian of 10-year-old Uziyah Garcia and he was protesting after an independent investigation of the mass shooting absolved police officers of any wrongdoing in their response.

Cross wants the officers involved to be disciplined, but says he ended his protest because he felt things were at an impasse."Progress was made in the fact in the way of, you know, I had several conversations with the Assistant Chief had a conversation with the Mayor, the City Manager, you know, trying to, let's find a place where it works for us." shared Cross.

He shared that he's not sure if the Uvalde City Council will address the independent investigation but hopes they will vote to accept or reject it.
