Who might be joining the DCU?

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT James Gunn might be teasing another iconic Justice League team coming to life in the DC Universe through his latest social media post. The DCEU movie timeline finally came to an end in 2023 with the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, serving as the final movie in the franchise. But as one universe has ended, another one is taking its place with Gunn and Peter Safran's upcoming DC Universe.

Without leaving a caption in his post, Gunn shared a photo of the DC Comics superhero Deadman, famously one of the members of Justice League Dark, a team focused on supernatural characters in the DC realm. Outside the comics, there have been a handful of Justice League Dark-centric movies in the world of animation.

However, as the Justice League Dark show and universe got canceled, this is the opportunity to make up for wasted potential, as Gunn's DC Universe could finally bring that team to life. With James Mangold's Swamp Thing movie being in the works, they already have one of the big members joining the DC Universe, which could serve as a gateway into the supernatural corners of the DC world.
