- A U.S. federal court struck down North Carolina’s decades-old ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, saying any “week- or event-specific” abortion ban is unconstitutional.
U.S. District Judge William Osteen in Greensboro overturned the ban on Monday, allowing an abortion to take place at any point before the fetus is viable, or able to potentially live outside the womb, as determined by a doctor. Laura Brewer, a spokeswoman for the North Carolina attorney general’s office, said her office was reviewing the decision.
This headline is misleading. In the article it talks about the judge saying a week / event threshold was unconstitutional and said the standard should be at viability / can live outside the womb with NICU support as determined by doctors which for most would be around 23 weeks.
abortion: the second best investment a man can make. kudos to the judge.
Disgraceful decision... The culture of death should not be perpetuated.
