As part of that campaign, the Institute has released research which shows 54 per cent of Victorians want more relaxed drug laws, and only 21 per cent believe they are working at the moment., Palmer said he thought legalisation was inevitable. He said there was significant public support for new laws and the current system was simply not working.

There is already a bill before the federal parliament, sponsored by the Greens, which would legalise the drug. "Standing still is a proven failure.
