A health care worker at Vista Community Clinic was selected for the 2023 Kugel & Zuroweste Health Justice Award given by the Migrant Clinicians Network. Deysi Merino-Gonzalez, program manager for the clinic's Migrant Health and Outreach, was recognized for her collaborative efforts to address health disparities and increase access to health care and resources for local migrant and farmworker communities.

This has been fundamental in ensuring that our work addresses health disparities and advances healthcare access and equity.' The Health Justice Award is named after Candace Kugel, former specialist of Clinical Systems and Women’s Health at the Migrant Clinicians Network, and Dr. Ed Zuroweste, founding medical director of the Migrant Clinicians Network.
