Prof fired for refuting climate change. Peta Credlin: Peter Ridd has a view that other scientists aren't brave enough to share. John Roskam: This idea that the Great Barrier Reef is dying because of climate change has to be challenged. MORE: jones&co

In 2018 Marine Scientist Professor Peter Ridd told Sky News he was charged with serious misconduct allegations by James Cook University after breaking a gag order over his claim that global warming is destroying the Great Barrier Reef. Dr Ridd was then fired by the university and is now challenging his job dismissal, with the case to be heard in Brisbane Federal Court next week.

The Institute of Public Affairs is assisting Dr Ridd with the proceedings and recently released a new film to promote this critical fight for free speech and academic freedom. Speaking to Sky News Host Andrew Bolt, IPA director of policy Gideon Rozner says there’s a huge public policy issue at stake here because of government commitments to spend on climate change when ‘the quality of the science may very well be patchy’.

GideonCRozner When did Rozner start paying taxes when did the IPA start paying Taxes Labor should do us all a favor & remove its charitable status

DavidLeyonhjelm GideonCRozner Why just University. Why can't we have laws on free speech for the whole country.

GideonCRozner Sceptic ,sweetie ..sceptic ...

GideonCRozner We can't let any old crank into universities to spout BS. The IPA is deluded.

GideonCRozner Where there's a Federal ICAC most of the LNP and IPA will be in prison.

DavidLeyonhjelm GideonCRozner Yet another fake 'war on Christmas'-style NewsCorp beat-up. The man was sacked for misconduct, not for his 'views'. Another phoney martyr of the Right.

GideonCRozner Peter Ridd is not a climate change sceptic. He is skeptical about some of the research and its quality about the impacts of climate change on the Reef. There is a big difference.

DavidLeyonhjelm GideonCRozner I’m not in favour of regulation as a rule..... BUT!.... FFS

GideonCRozner Sure they're for testing ideas as long as they don't hurt my feelings and make me cry.

GideonCRozner Jeebuz, Cripes, you free speech warriors at IPA are some kind of duplicitous mind-fucks.

GideonCRozner So wanting to sack the clown who was tone deaf to our Anzac day sentiments but are outraged by the bloke who was sacked for his questioning of his colleges . only on Sky with a diverse panel of Rita, Cator and some bloke from the IPA

GideonCRozner The IPA wants our youth.

GideonCRozner Academics at universities have a commitment to academic ethics and integrity: If you can't hold your argument at a university (or peer-reviewed journal) - you never had an actual argument to begin with... Taxpayers don't fund universities to give platforms to hopeless arguments

GideonCRozner Poor form to the person managing this Twitter account. The man's name is Peter Ridd, not Climate skeptic. He is a research skeptic, a big difference to being a climate skeptic. Climate skeptic carries an implication that the research is correct and anyone who disagrees is wrong.
