Court adjourns suit challenging NUJ President’s certificate vanguardngr.com vanguardnews

Justice O.O Arowosegbe ordered that the 1st, 2nd 3rd and 5th defendants in the suit be reserved a hearing notice since they did not make any appearance in court.A member of the council in Enugu State, Ms Ngozi Agbo, had filed suit NICN/EN/05/2019 through seeking among others the interpretation of Article 6 and Article 3 of the NUJ constitution.

Agbo is also seeking for a declaration that the 2nd defendant, Isiguzo, and the 10th defendant, Arum, were not qualified to hold any office in the union having not possessed the requisite educational qualification as stipulated in Article 3 of the NUJ constitution.

Also part of the demands was a declaration that the list of the cleared members of the union is null and void having breached/violated the rules of fair hearing and the Article 6, Section 7 of the Nigerian Union of Journalists and a perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from further denial of the claimant’s rights to be heard on all matters concerning her as regards the said election.
