Tony McAvoy, SC, will review the “processes” of the Environmental Defenders Office after harsh criticism by a judge.

Already a subscriber?The Environmental Defenders Office has commissioned an external review in response to the scathing findings of a Federal Court judge of its role in the Barossa pipeline case earlier this year.and recommend reforms to “enhance provision of EDO’s legal services … including in court processes involving cultural heritage”.

“The review is a proactive step by the EDO board to ensure continuous improvement and strengthening of EDO’s practice and service delivery. She said the review would not “traverse the particular circumstances of that case or the findings of the court”. The issue of costs is yet to be decided.
