Esther said she has only just returned to her office following weeks of it being shut due to the surge in violence. Her younger son has also been stuck at home after his classes moved online, while her oldest is at university abroad. The lawyer said gangs have only become stronger since as they have become “organised”, resulting in victims being kidnapped for longer.
