Colleagues Sarah Spivey and Sarah Acosta said an emotional goodbye to “Good Morning San Antonio” anchor Max Massey, who is pursuing a career in law.

After almost seven years at KSAT, Max Massey bid a bittersweet farewell to his teammates and audience Sunday. The weekend anchor of “Good Morning San Antonio” is departing the station to pursue a career in law, but his colleagues couldn’t let him go without passing the tissues around amid a few tears and a slew of kind words. Meteorologist Sarah Spivey delivered “Max’s Last Day Forecast,” which called for more time to watch sports; a joyful, successful future; and no more 1 a.m.

The Pennsylvania native, whose “Great Graduates” segment spotlighted local students who overcame long odds to achieve academic success, is set to graduate from law school in May. He plans to take the bar after that. When it was anchor Sarah Acosta’s turn to say goodbye, she called attention to the demands of a less-than-ideal work schedule.
