The female judges include Justice Fatima Adamu, Justice Hauwa Lawan, Justice Farida Rabi’u Danbappa, Justice Halima Aliyu Nasir, and Justice Aisha Mahmoud. The beneficiaries were chosen from neighbouring communities near the renowned Falgore forest to mitigate the impacts of climate change and enhance the livelihoods of rural women farmers.

The National Human Rights Commission has raised the alarm over the increasing rate of child abandonment in Nigeria, saying that it received 339 complaints concerning the issue in February 2024.
