The US has pledged to increase its presence in Southeast Asia, particularly in the South China Sea, to help maintain stability and peace in the region. US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Daniel Kritenbrink, stated that the US will be more visible in Southeast Asia and will work together with allies and partners to address global and regional challenges. The US Department of State spokesperson, Matthew Miller, criticized China's provocative actions, stating that they disregard the safety of Filipinos and international law.

Amid the increasing challenges in Southeast Asia, particularly in the South China Sea (SCS), the US vowed to 'fly and sail' around the region as part of its security commitment to its friends and allies. US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink said on Thursday that the US will be more visible in the coming days in Southeast Asia to help Asean partners maintain stability, peace, and order in the region.

During his visit to Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam, Kritenbrink met with senior government officials to reaffirm the US commitment to work together with allies and partners to tackle the most serious global and regional challenges of the 21st century. 'We will be flying and sailing around the region,' the US official said during a digital press briefing attended by the Manila Times and other journalists from Asia and the US. Matthew Miller, spokesman of the US Department of State said that the provocative actions by China demonstrated disregard for the safety of Filipinos and international law
