A public inquiry will take place into the police investigation of the murder of Emma Caldwell, the Scottish Government has announced.
Justice Secretary Angela Constance told MSPs at the Scottish Parliament what Emma Caldwell's mother Margaret said to her. "There are those who say that such inquiries take too long. My family have struggled for 19 years to get justice and we will wait however long it takes to see the truth, and will accept nothing less."
The decision to hold a public inquiry was reached after the First Minister and Justice Secretary held discussions with Emma’s family, including her mother Margaret Caldwell, on Tuesday this week.
