JOHANNESBURG - The Office of the Chief Justice says it has reported an incident of Deputy Chief Justice Mandisa Maya being impersonated to police.

This came after an unknown individual used a number registered to and used by the deputy chief justice to request the contact numbers of judges from an official of the OCJ. The office cautioned the public against falling prey to the impersonator, further warning that such an act was a criminal offence.

The OCJ also asked the public and the media to verify the authenticity of any communication, directive, article, or social media post that purports to be that of a judge.
