Superior Court judges are partially responsible for current crime levels in The City

Two moderate judicial candidates are vying to unseat two more-progressive San Francisco Superior Court judges in Tuesday’s election, one that has largely focused on crime and public safety in The City.

Police also said they locked up scores of homicide suspects when investigators saw an 85% clearance rate for killings — far above the national average of 60%. On the same night last year that San Francisco voters ousted former progressive District Attorney Chesa Boudin from office, a police officer tweeted, “Tonight, for the 15th time in 18 months, and the 3rd time in 20 days, we are booking the same suspect at county jail for felony motor vehicle theft.”

“I’m sorry, but I don’t agree with the approach that permits compassionate treatment of fentanyl sellers on our streets when the death toll is 3,000 ” said Zecher, who is challenging Begert. “I think we really need to consider what we are doing.” Ex // Top Stories Torrey siblings to bring shoegaze magic to SF Make Out Room Torrey will play the Make Out Room as part of an album release party for their second full-length record

“I’ve lived in the Sunset district since 1986,” Zecher said. “I’m your neighbor. My opponent, Michael Begert, is not. He lives in Piedmont, that posh area across the Bay. They don’t have 3,000 deaths a year from fentanyl on the streets; they don’t have gunshots ringing out on streets. We San Franciscans live with these problems on a daily basis.”

Roland said three masked men entered their home, pistol-whipped her grandfather, threw her grandmother down a flight of stairs, and then tied the couple up. She went to the home, saw the blood-covered floors and translated when her immigrant grandparents struggled to communicate with police officers.Still, she said, an effective judge must balance victims’ rights with defendants’ rights.
