Naomi Long, the justice minister, has stated that she is fully focused on her current job and not considering running in the general election. However, if she does run and get elected as an MP, she would have to resign from her position at Stormont. She is currently working on 'Charlotte's Law', which aims to increase the prison sentences for murderers who refuse to disclose the location of their victims' remains. Mrs. Long considers this legislation to be a challenging task.
While she has not discussed her future with anyone, her priority remains the Department of Justice
