PAC members say ball in PM’s court over retaining Kiandee as chief

Kiandee, who defected to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia from Umno, has left government lawmakers divided over whether he should stay as the PAC chairman or go. — Picture by Yusof Mat Isa

“Members of the PAC have signed a letter that detailed our unhappiness over the issue. We are waiting for his reply before any other steps are taken. “Because in the old administration, the deputy post was always offered to the Opposition. So this is not a long-term, tenable situation, having said that we have hearings that are already into their fourth month.

Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Sim Tze Tzin also reportedly urged Kiandee to “do the right thing” and resign. Another PAC member, Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi said she also respects Nurul Izzah’s decision to quit the committee; however, she pointed out that the PAC can still function as an effective committee even without the top post being held by an Opposition lawmaker.

Kiandee.... simple and easy ... just resign and stop this nonsense and time wasting episode. All the forces are against you...so what are you waiting for? You are no better than the others....

Which part of ' follow the manifesto' is so difficult to understand and follow? By the way, nobody is indispensable. Continue your investigations but have the will to adapt and take action when developments occur. Why always pass to PM? Hv a collective decision.

PAC members should take a stand. Passing the ball to PM is akin to avoiding responsibility to make tough decision. The PAC members doing that should step down. They don't deserve the allowance for being a member of PAC.

Don't pass the buck to the PM. Why don't you do the honourable thing!

It is honourable for the PAC chairman to resign !

Or Kiandee do the right thing, resign as head but remain as member..shows principle over self
