A 26-year-old man will be charged in court on Feb 16 with criminal trespass after he illegally entered a hostel in Jalan Besar.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs, officers from Central Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him within sixteen hours of the report.

Further investigations revealed that the man had entered the hostel with an intent to use the hostel’s facilities without paying. The police added:"The man also allegedly went into one of the rooms in the hostel, which was then occupied by two women who were sleeping.If found guilty of criminal trespass, the man faces a jail term of up to three months and/or a fine of up to $1,500.
