McCarroll argued that he unfairly would be prejudiced by statements made by co-defendants Karmelo Derks and Reginald Fluker. McCarroll also wrote that he unfairly would be associated with an alleged attempted carjacking in Mississippi during ain September 2022. Derks and Darrius Rowser, but not McCarroll have been charged with that count.
