JOHOR BARU: Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar says the Federal Constitution will be contravened, if Malaysia ratifies the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Icerd), as well as the government's decision to sign the instrument to accede to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

His Majesty said that this was because it touched on the powers of the monarchy, the privileges of the Malays and the sanctity of Islam in Malaysia.
