UN rights council blasts IAAF over testosterone rules for female athletes

Double Olympic champion Caster Semenya, who has dominated the women's 800 metres over the last decade.

In a rare intrusion in the world of sport, the United Nations’ top rights body has passed a resolution stating that the International Association of Athletics Federations may be in breach of “international human rights norms and standards”. World athletics’ governing body has argued the moves are necessary to create a “level playing field” for other female athletes.

During that five-year period, her best times in the 800m were a second or two slower than before and after.– UN rights chief –

We appreciate that but we want to see men and women competing together in the same race, otherwise make us understand what makes both sexes different. The problem here is about singling out one person. If this issue is a concern, we want to see all athletes going through the same process. What I see and hear is very masculine.
