Israel seized two-thirds of the Golan during the 1967 war, and since 1973 Syria has made no military effort to regain it. Its army is no match for Israel’s superior military capabilities. Syria called the assertion of Israeli sovereignty “irresponsible,” saying it revealed the U.S. “mentality of hegemony and arrogance.”

I lean towards most of this president's good policies. But legitimizing Israel's 'occupation and annexation of foreign land' is WRONG. I argue as much as north and south Korea's DMZ type suggestion but not sovereignty. It did not belong to Israel then and it should not now.
