Former Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has recalled the infamous tale of his Arsenal trial as he took out Thierry Henry and Arsene Wenger

Former Liverpool defender Kolo Toure was in hysterics after being reminded of an infamous moment when once on trial with Arsenal.

Appearing on TalkSPORT with Jim White and former team-mate Martin Keown on Friday, Parlour’s version of events was replayed to Toure. And the former Reds defender was in hysterics before sharing his own version of events. Toure has actually spoken out on his Arsenal trial before, admitting he thought he had blown his chance to join the club.

"All the players were laughing and I was in shock! I thought they were going to get rid of me there and then. But Arsene is an intelligent guy: he only saw a young African boy who was keen to impress him, and gave me that opportunity to express myself and show what I was capable of doing.""It's true – it was a big tackle, a proper one!" Toure said. "He had to get some ice on his foot.

"The thing is, when you step out onto the pitch and you play against those players, it excites me, you feel so high. For me, it was a big opportunity to just make a statement to show that I can defend against these guys, and that's why I was really strong in every tackle!
