Ex-Senate President, Ameh Ebute, Writes Trump over US Report on Corruption, Killings in Nigeria via thisdaylive

A former Senate President, Chief Ameh Ebute, has written the United States President, Donald Trump, over the recent report by US Department of State titled, “2018 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices,” saying certain assumptions as contained in the report on Nigeria did not reflect the reality under the Buhari Presidency.

Ebute said he was encouraged as a leader in Nigeria to write the open letter in order to correct certain erroneous impressions and strengthen the records on the punchy assault on the human rights direction of the incumbent leadership under President Muhammadu Buhari. “The gang-up against Nigeria to cause its break-up is strong, thick, scary and penetrative, as reflected in the barrage of existing and emerging insecurity threats across the country.

“We owe them a debt of gratitude; Nigerian soldiers deserve our collective applause for the wonderful outings, especially against Boko Haram insurgency.

I get shocked when we have pple this level toeing the path of misinformation maybe due to pecuniary reasons. USA is not like Naija where sm politician jst wakes up and makes stmnts. These pple know your country more than u do and their report is correct. We r nt fools old man

And what will happen next? This one we're running to US on Human Rights abused issues Is like using cat to protect fish against rat.

I can’t even finish reading .. Oga u dey lie sha.. how can Nigeria be great when u can see white and u are calling it blue ? Oga God dey ooo

While families are mourning, IDP camps are burning, Southern Kaduna is suppressed, Zamfara State is filled with tears & Middle Belt flows with blood as South East/south-South appears to be under military occupation, Ameh Ebute goes on a selfish mission. Tomorrow comes after today

Whether Pple like it or not, USA will rely on facts/credible evidence to spk abt human rights abuses. Some might find the truth bitter. The military attack on Innocent citizens is obvious. Intimidation by security agencies is rampant. Looting continues & the poor are dying. ....

You have to legally bind United States in international court to stop issuing country report on Nigeria not by writing to President Trump who is anti Africans and immigrants.

Nigeria leaves itself wide open to this type of degrading US country report by not improving standard of leaving for majority of Nigerians Proverb: If you know someone is trying to fry you...u must stop dipping yourself in frying oil. Take the report as guide to good govt.

The US country report on Nigeria is used by United States to discredit Nigeria at their convenience. Nigeria needs to start issuing its own country report on USA and other countries. No country has absolute legal authority to discredit any country based on country report alone.

No stress over US country report on Nigeria due to their hypocrisy. Same report submitted by Nigerians for asylum as proof of country conditions, US (BOA) Board of immigration Appeal always deny asylum claiming FG and NA are doing great job fighting BH in Nigeria, Asylum Denied.
