Nigeria's independent online newspaper

Datti Baba-Ahmed, vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last elections, has asked Nigerians to wake up, adding that no justice of the supreme court will give them democracy.

“Democracy in Nigeria is poor. The people have to wake up to challenges. For the people that are ready to accept anything, then anything will happen to them,” Baba-Ahmed said.“The petition court and the supreme court, please quote me on this, did not actually affirm the success of Tinubu’s presidency.

“That is why we said it is an unreasonable show of force. If there was something we could do, we would stop it but we are law abiding citizens that is why I am here sitting with you today and still complaining.
