MANILA, Philippines: A petition was filed before the Supreme Court on Tuesday to declare the transfer of ₱125 million confidential funds to the office of Vice President Sara Duterte unconstitutional.

Lawyer Barry Gutierrez, the spokesman of former vice president Maria Leonor 'Leni' Robredo, and others also want the OVP to return the money to the government treasury.'Other reliefs that are just and equitable under the premises are likewise prayed for,' the petitioners said.

Aside from Gutierrez, petitioners include former Commission on Elections chairman Christian Monsod, former Finance undersecretary Maria Cielo Magno, former Commission on Filipinos Overseas chairman Imelda Nicolas, law professor Katrina Monsod, Ray Paolo Santiago, Honorio Poblador 3rd, Augusto Lagman, Vicente Romano, Rex Drilon and Miguel Jugo.The Commission on Audit confirmed that the OVP spent the controversial P125 million confidential funds in 2022 in just 11 days.
